Chicago Sky (+470) at New York Liberty (-11) | O/U 165 (-110/-110)
Jonquel Jones’ rebounding line of 9.5 offering +100 odds is unbelievable value right now. Jones is 6-1 against this number over her last seven games while averaging 10.7 rebounds during that stretch.
Jones has also played twice on no rest this season and the most recent time, June 22 (vs. LA) and 23 (@ ATL), JJ pulled down 13 and 11 rebounds respectively. On the previous occasion this season where New York played on back-to-back days, June 8 (@ CON) and 9 (vs. ATL), Jones secured eight rebounds in both games showing she can maintain rebounding prowess in the second half of back-to-backs.
These performances can also be forgiven considering Connecticut is the most suffocating defense in the W and turning around the next day after such a physical matchup is a tough ask as well. Again, even in that situation Jones showed she could still match her previous game total in that instance which, given her 11 rebounds on Wednesday, would cash in this instance as well.
Angel Reese is 10-5 against this number in her last 15 games, averaging 13.4 rebounds during that run. This feat is even more impressive when considering Reese is leading the W in rebounding (as a rookie, no less) at 11.9 per game and has averaged 1.5 more rebounds than her WNBA-pacing number during that stretch.
Reese has never played on back-to-back days as a pro so there are no WNBA comparable performances. However, despite the back-to-back, Reese battled foul trouble on Wednesday resulting in just 30 minutes on the court against the Dream. Therefore, she should be relatively rested as it was her fewest minutes since a 16-point/18-rebound double-double against Dallas on June 20. Reese is also in the middle of a historic run, notching her WNBA-record 14th straight double-double on Wednesday afternoon. That’s not just a rookie record, that’s the longest such streak in the nearly 30-year history of the W, so Reese has given us no reason to believe she can’t go for 13 on both ends of a back-to-back.
With both of these squads playing on no rest there are sure to be plenty of rebounds to go around so I have no problem banking on these two rebounding machines to hit their respective targets.
WNBA Picks: Jonquel Jones Over 9.5 Rebounds (+100), Angel Reese Over 12.5 Rebounds (-125)
Jones/Reese Parlay Odds: +254
