The end of the season is here and while some teams are still fighting for playoff positions, others are waving goodbye to the 2023 MLS season. Such is the case of Inter Miami, a team that this Saturday plays its last game in the competition against Charlotte FC.
On Friday, Inter Miami finished their preparation for the last game of their season and will then travel to North Carolina to play against Charlotte on MLS Decision Day. Prior to the club’s training session, Javier Morales, Tata Martino’s assistant, gave a brief press conference to the media present and assured what many had expected, that Lionel Messi will travel with the team to Charlotte for the last game of the season and that the Argentine forward will play.
The big doubt for Martino’s coaching staff is the playing time Messi will have, as Martino previously stressed that the captain has just played 90 minutes in the CONMEBOL qualifiers with Argentina.
“Leo is going to travel and we will decide between today and tomorrow how much time he will play, but he is traveling to Charlotte with the team,” Morales said at a news conference.
