Chelsea (-450) vs. Luton Town (+1200), DRAW (+600) | 3.5 (+135/-165)

The Blues return home to Stamford Bridge after a trouncing at the hands of West Ham last weekend. It was a 3-1 defeat for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, pushing them to 0-1-1 out of the gate. Chelsea gears up to host newly-promoted Luton Town, and they’re 0-0-1 after getting dominated 4-1 by Brighton in the opener. Kickoff is set for Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET from London.

This should be the match that the Blues get their feet underneath themselves. They’ll square off against the relegation favorite (-330) in front of their home crowd. What more could you ask for as a floundering squad with such high expectations?

I think we see a bit more chemistry amongst the Chelsea roster this weekend. Moises Caicedo had a full week with his new club and he should slot in nicely in the midfield with Enzo Fernandez. Look for the duo to help control the possession against the lowly Hatters of Luton Town. The bottom line here is that Chelsea possesses seven players on their roster making north of £10 million while Luton Town doesn’t have one making over £1 million. Let’s hope the Blues play like they’re paid and secure at least a three-goal victory.

Bet: Chelsea -2 (+105)

Everton (+130) vs. Wolves (+220), DRAW (+235) | 2.5 (+115/-145)

We have a matchup featuring the two teams in the cellar on Saturday morning. Both Everton and Wolverhampton are 0-0-2 out of the gate, losing by a combined 10-1 in their first two matches. This one is slated for 10:00 a.m. ET from Goodison Park in Liverpool.

I’m not overthinking this game and I’m rolling with the under here. These are the two worst offenses in the Premier League as Everton has been blanked in both matches while Wolves found the back of the net for the first time in the 61st minute last weekend.

This isn’t a new trend considering the Wanderers were the worst offense in the top flight of English soccer last year, scoring just 31 times. The Toffees were second-worst with just 34 tallies. Dating back to 2021, the under at 2.5 goals is 3-2 in this matchup with a combined 10 goals. I think it’s safe to say that the defense is the relatively strong point for both clubs, so we should see them each bottle up the lousy opposing offenses. Give me the under here.

Bet: Under 2.5 (-145)

Newcastle (+115) vs. Liverpool (+195), DRAW (+275) | 3.5 (+120/-155)

The Premier League matchday wraps up Sunday with a big tilt between Newcastle and Liverpool. This match is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET from St. James’ Park in Newcastle.

I think we’re in for the exact opposite style of game as the above-mentioned matchup between Everton and Wolves. This Newcastle vs. Liverpool matchup has the potential to be an electric barburner featuring a ton of goals. With that being said, I think it’s worth a shot to take the over 3.5 goals in this spot.

The Reds showed their offensive prowess at Anfield last weekend, defeating Bournemouth 3-1. Jurgen Klopp’s side even added a goal in the 62nd minute, when they were already down a man due to a red card. As for Newcastle, they struggled to find much offense during the second matchday, losing 1-0 to Manchester City. That’s certainly not an embarrassing result considering City’s the best club in the world at the moment.

I believe things will open up for the Magpies this week. Liverpool looked a little spotty defensively throughout last weekend’s match. Considering they struggled to lock down Bournemouth, I have to think Newcastle should be able to notch a few goals. Let’s take a shot with the over in the Sunday nightcap.

Bet: Over 3.5 (+120)
