A new sportsbook has been launched by Svenska Spel Sport & Casino in collaboration with Kambi, after an agreement between the two was signed in October of last year.
Since that time, Svenska Spel has been working with Kambi on the development and integration of the new sportsbook platform. The group will hope this latest venture will diversify its user experience ahead of the Euros and Copa America football tournaments this summer.
Product Manager at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, Jonas Nygren, spoke on the development, stating: “It feels great to be able to offer our customers a new competitive sportsbook. Customers get an expanded gaming experience together with a wider range of both markets and services under our brand Oddset. And to be live just in time for this summer’s big football party feels extra good.”
This news comes in the wake of the announcement of disappointing Q1 results for Svenska Spel, which saw the group’s operating profit decrease by a notable 49% in the initial quarter. The business attributed this decrease to several costs that arose in the time period, and will hope the launch of its new sportsbook will help turn the corner as we move through the year.
Sports betting services provider Kambi also reported a slight decrease of 1.8% in Q1 revenue year-on-year – and has more recently partnered with Mohegan in Pennsylvania in early May.
Speaking about this latest joint venture, Managing Director Erik Lögdberg said: “We are very pleased with our launch together with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, one of the most well-known brands in Sweden in gaming and entertainment.”
