The deal has been made with the aim of boosting localised media campaigns and engagement opportunities primarily within the Balkans, where OlyBet operates. The collaboration also includes the potential for football fans to interact with Modric over social media and in person.
Corey Plummer, Chairman and CEO of Olympic Entertainment Group and OlyBet Group, commented: “OlyBet was… established in a smaller European nation, in Estonia, with big ambitions and a competitive spirit. Luka represents a lot of these values about our brand; he is very competitive, has lots of passion for sports and passion for excellence – this is a great combination with our brand.”
Modric, who has played over 400 games for Spanish football club Real Madrid, has previously appeared in a World Cup final, as well as winning the Ballon d’Or, football’s most prestigious individual award, in 2018. He also captains the Croatian national team.
He explained: “I decided to partner with OlyBet because they are a very ambitious brand all over Europe and I am also ambitious as a person. I like to work with brands that have high goals that strive for excellence and OlyBet is one of those.”
OlyBet is no stranger to signing partnerships within the world of sport. Earlier this year, the group signed an agreement to become the official sports betting partner of the National Hockey League in the Baltic region.
Furthermore, in October this year, it was named the official regional betting partner of the Italian Serie A football club ACF Fiorentina.
As well as operating out of Estonia, the group also operates in Lithuania and Latvia, owning over 100 casinos, hotels and dining locations in total.
