O’Neill Jr has been signed as an ambassador on an initial contract up until the 2024 Grand National.

He is a former Conditional Jockey Championship winner, and son of two-time Gold Cup-winning jockey and Grand National trainer Jonjo O’Neill.

Despite being an ambassador, O’Neill Jr will be hoping to win at Cheltenham Festival 2023, which begins on 14 March 2023, as a participating jockey.

Betfred Co-Founder Fred Done said of O’Neill Jr: “I’m delighted we will be working with Jonjo O’Neill Jr, and what a great way to start next week at Cheltenham.”

In addition to O’Neill Jr, Betfred has also signed Racing TV presenter and ex-Love Island star Frankie Foster as its new Social Media Ambassador.

Foster has been working with Betfred since the 2022 Cheltenham Festival as a host on the operator’s digital programming – and will continue in this role until 2024.

On his expanded role at Betfred, Foster said: “I’m thrilled to continue my partnership with Betfred. Last year we went from Royal Ascot to a Super League Grand Final, to me throwing 9 Darts at the World Champs!

“As a leading bookmaker across the sports that I love, I couldn’t be happier to work with Betfred moving forwards, and I’m excited for the year of sporting action and sports betting with them!”

Betfred’s Head of Brand, Jade Daniels, added: “We’re delighted to have Frankie as our ambassador on our social channels.

“He brings a fresh perspective to Betfred, and working with him has been a joy. We’re excited to see what he has in store for us this year.”
