The sports betting and gaming operator will build on its partnership with global technology and media company Verizon Media to bring the gaming and betting content to sports fans.
The virtual reality “sports club” entertainment experience is set to be rolled out across Entain’s international brands, and will be available for free on the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset. It will enable customers to play multiple VR sports games, both individually and with friends.
Available to over 18s only, features include live streaming of football matches, experiences allowing fans to build fantasy lineups in virtual reality, and playing different sports games virtually, among others.
“We continually offer our customers a wide range of innovative and exciting experiences, and VR is an exciting opportunity for us to innovate in new ways,” said Entain COO Sandeep Tiku.
“The aim is to mix sports, entertainment and different types of immersive play in one product, giving customers a great mix of new, exciting stuff to enjoy.”
The launch comes alongside further development of the group’s Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) platform, which moves player protection from being reactive to a more personalized proactive approach.
“We know consumers are looking for more multi-dimensional experiences, in which the ability to place a bet is only one of the ways they want to enjoy themselves,” added Tiku.
“So we want to wow them and give them better experiences than they’ve ever had before – and at the same time also use our cutting edge technology to keep our players safe.”
