Bettors in the Bayou State can now pre-register for Wynn Resorts’ wagering platform ahead of digital betting’s launch.
Louisianans can take advantage of an exclusive pre-registration offer where, after making a $10 wager, they will receive $250 in free bets when the platform goes live.
Meanwhile, O’Neal, commonly known by his nickname Shaq, will spearhead WynnBet’s marketing efforts in the state.
This will mark a return for the NBA icon, who began his career playing college basketball for Louisiana State University’s (LSU) Tigers.
Ian Williams, President of Wynn Interactive, commented: “WynnBet’s launch in Louisiana is just the beginning of an exciting few months for our company as we significantly increase our footprint during the first quarter of 2022.
“Pending regulatory approval, we will also soon be launching our online sportsbook in New York and Iowa, expanding the number of states players can enjoy our platform from seven to 10.
“We look forward to welcoming new customers from across the country to WynnBet in the coming weeks.”
This comes after WynnBet secured approval to offer online sports betting in Louisiana back in September 2021, though it has not yet been green lit to accept and process wagers.
While retail sports betting went live last year, online sportsbooks await the official go-ahead, though several operators have debuted pre-launch offers. However, digital betting is expected to launch soon.
WynnBet is currently live in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia.
