Pro League Network (PLN), a sports betting entertainment company, has acquired the SlapFight Championship and integrated the sport into its library.
The acquisition includes all SlapFight Championship assets, including branding, content, social media channels and the Championship Founder and CEO, JT Tilley.
Tilley will join PLN as a Creative Director, where he will be responsible for the conception, development and production of sports.
Founded in 2017, the SlapFight Championship features a roster of slapfight champions, including UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia.
The events are distributed internationally through both live pay-per-view events and on-demand services.
Mike Salvaris and Bill Yucatonis, PLN Co-Founders, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to add SlapFight to our portfolio and are looking forward to growing the brand, as well as introducing SlapFight fans to other PLN sports.
“JT and his team have a great eye for developing sports that are easy to understand, viral in nature and compelling to watch. We’re looking forward to working in partnership as we create more PLN sports.”
The SlapFight Championship will join the library of unique sports offered by PLN, including XTreme Long Drive, Pro Footgolf, National Carrom League, Strongman, T3 TouchTennis and Beastball.
Tilly said: “When I first met the PLN team last year it was clear that we shared a vision for the future of sports entertainment – one where sports that may be considered ‘niche’ could, if produced correctly, be appealing to a broad audience and engaged with across multiple channels – including betting, fantasy and watch-alongs.
“I am excited to work with Mike and Bill to bring this vision to life.”
Earlier this year, the Pro League Network expanded the World Putting League Championship to eight more US states.
